Design Communication // Spring 2016

overview.

The Wagons to Wings Pavilion was based off of the original Wagons to Wings Pavilion at the 1933 Chicago World’s fair, exhibiting a century of progress and modernization.

Creating a collage from mixed expressions of modernism and technology, a model was made through turning points into vertices, and creating varied distances that added up to hold a distinct form.

The final model was made of plaster and acrylic, though various mediums have been attempted.Triangular planes held together through a hierarchy of shapes resulted in a unique form where no two sides were alike.
